Not a substitute for medical advice

Your results, the laboratory's report, the questions for your GP and the general guidance do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and do not create a doctor-patient relationship with us. Always seek the advice of a qualified clinician about your health, and never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read here.

In an emergency

If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 999 or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not wait for anything on Human Pattern.

Results outside the range

Every result is shown against the laboratory's own reference range. Ranges differ between laboratories and may not fit every individual, so a result outside a range is one piece of information, not a diagnosis. Values at a laboratory's critical limits are flagged at the top of your results with advice to contact your GP or NHS 111, or to seek urgent care. For tests bought with us, values at a laboratory critical limit are escalated the same day to a clinician, who contacts you.

Questions for your GP and general guidance

Questions for your GP are prepared from the laboratory's own flags using fixed rules, not AI, and are a starting point for a conversation. Ways to support your health are general wellbeing information, not advice for you personally. Human Pattern does not use AI to interpret your results.

About our test descriptions

The descriptions of each test are written by Human Pattern in plain English, drawing mainly on information published by the NHS and NHS hospital laboratories. They explain what a test measures and why it is included in a panel, not what a result means for you.

Results you upload

Results you upload from another provider are read automatically and shown as you supplied them. Check the values against your original report; we can't verify their accuracy.
