Privacy policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your data, including special-category health data. It applies to Human Pattern and the account you create with us.
Who we are
Human Pattern is operated by Sentium Ltd (company no. 16512683), registered in England & Wales, London E17 3NU. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration no. ZC003342. Contact us at support@sentium.app.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Profile data: your age and sex, which decide your test panel and the laboratory's ranges.
- Health data (special category): results from tests you buy with us, the laboratory's report, results you upload from another provider, and any health documents you choose to store with us.
- Orders and payments: the tests you buy and your invoices. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Support messages: what you write to us or to our help assistant.
- Technical data: limited error and reliability telemetry to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
To provide your tests and show your results; to prepare questions for your GP from the laboratory's own flags, using fixed rules; to show general ways to support your health; to take payment and issue invoices; to help you when you contact us; and to keep the service secure. We do not use AI to interpret your results.
Our lawful bases
We process your health data only with your explicit consent, captured when you sign up and withdrawable at any time. We also rely on performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), legal obligations (for example, keeping financial records) and our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and service reliability).
Where your data lives
Your data is stored in UK Microsoft Azure regions, encrypted in transit and at rest. When you upload a report, we read the values from it using Azure OpenAI in Microsoft's EU Data Zone, under Microsoft's data-processing terms, which do not allow your data to be used to train models. Our help assistant uses the same service to answer questions from our help articles; please do not include health details in it. If you choose AI suggestions in Nutrition, your meal photo or description is sent once to the same service to suggest foods and calories. We do not keep the photo; only the meal you check and save is stored, and you can turn suggestions off at any time. If you choose to speak a note in the Symptom Tracker, your recording is sent once to Microsoft's Azure AI services in the EU to turn it into text, and the text is used to suggest entries. We do not keep the recording or the text; only the entries you check and save are stored. We never sell your data.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of processors under data-processing agreements: Microsoft Azure (hosting, storage, email delivery, reading uploaded reports and, if you use them, Toolkit suggestions), Stripe (payments and invoices) and our testing partner, which collects your sample at home or in a clinic and analyses it in its laboratory. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We never put your results in an email.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account and as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. Invoices are kept for as long as the law requires for financial records. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, export, restrict or delete your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Use your account or email support@sentium.app. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Deleting your data
See our data deletion instructions.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy.
Children
Human Pattern is for adults (16+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
